In 2016 and 2017, Jaune Toujours celebrates “Jaune Toujours 20sth” – 2 years in which they set up several projects, releases collaborations etc. as they celebrate their 20 sth birthday (actually, the band already exists from 1991 on, but it only got serious from 1996, when frontman Piet Maris moved to Brussels and 1997, when Theophane Raballand and Bart Maris joined on respectively drums & trumpet).

For this occasion, the band releases a 8 piece collector’s box, limited edition, including all albums from the band and lots of extra’s!

Double interview: Piet Maris & politician Khadija Zamouri

Choux de Bruxelles kreeg onlangs positief artistiek advies voor de cultuursubsidies van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap voor de komende vijf jaar. Fingers crossed (de beslissing is voor juni 2016)! Politica Khadija Zamouri (Open VLD) over de noodzaak van overheidssteun aan een kleine Brusselse organisatie als Choux de Bruxelles.

Choux de Bruxelles recently received positive advise for Flemish Authority support for the comin five years. Fingers crossed (the final decision will be taken June 2016) Politician Khadija Zamouri (Open VLD) on the necessity of authority support to a small Brussels organisation like Choux de Bruxelles

Pleidooi: Meer diversiteit in het Muziekbeleid op VRT!

Radio 1 voerde einde 2014 drastische veranderingen door, met aanzienlijke gevolgen voor de muzikale diversiteit binnen de programmatie. Vandaar het pleidooi en de petitie voor meer muzikale diversiteit op de openbare omroep.

Réfugiés sans Frontières – Concertavond De Soundtrack van het Verzet

De Soundtrack Van Het Verzet komt uit de schoot van de sociale beweging Hart Boven Hard en vindt elke derde zondag van de maand plaats in café Rood-Wit in Berchem. Host deze maand is Piet Maris, onder de titel “Réfugiés sans Frontières”, naar de gelijknamige Jaune Toujours-song, met optredens van artiesten van Radio Transit en Kinch & Rafiki.

Piet en Bart Maris – Concert Autoloze Zondag Ninove

Broers Piet en Bart Maris komen naar hun vroegere thuisstad Ninove voor een concert op autoloze zondag. Ze geven een optreden samen met een aantal bevriende muzikanten, fietsend door het repertoire van hun beider projecten. Apero!

New Mec Yek album ‘Super Diver City’ out now!

The gypsy incarnation that has developed from Jaune Toujours is called Mec Yek and Super Diver City is their latest recording.

Super Diver City contains some musical surprises: twelve tracks, nine particular arrangements of traditional Roma-songs, two songs written by singers Katia and Milka and one Amy Winehouse cover translated into Romanès. All nicely mixed together by Shazalakazoo, leading duo in Balkan Beats from Belgrade, Serbia. Also, against all expectations: Mec Yek is a gypsy band without violin.
